July 31, 2014 Yamal Peninsula and Taymyr Peninsula, Siberia - The Siberian Times reports that two more deep holes have been found in Siberia's “end of the world” Yamal Peninsula and Taymyr Peninsula on the Kara Sea. This is after the mid-July discovery of a still-unexplained huge hole that scientists traveled to Yamal Peninsula on July 16th to investigate a 262-foot-diameter hole near the natural gas and oil fields of Bovanenkovo. Scientists were looking for suspected evidence of heat and scorching, but did not find any around that first hole. See First Hole further below.

July 17, 2014 Menlo Park, California - On Thursday, July 10, 2014, Associated Press headlined, “Yellowstone Road Melts — Sites Closed.” A photograph with the breaking news shows a seriously melted asphalt road called Firehole Lake Drive that loops around some Yellowstone geysers, including Old Faithful.

July 17, 2014 Charama, State of Chattisgarh, India - Archaeologist J. R. Bhagat from the Chhattisgarh State Department of Archaeology and Culture was described in the July 15, 2014, The Times of India, as reporting that 10,000-year-old rock paintings “depicting aliens and UFOs” have been recently discovered in the small villages of Chandeli and Gotitola near the Charama region about 81 miles (130 km) from Raipur. He said, “The findings suggest that humans in prehistoric times may have seen, or imagined, beings from other planets, which still create curiosity among people and researchers. Extensive research is needed for further findings. Chhattisgarh presently doesn't have any such expert who could give clarity on the subject.”

Earth's solid iron-nickel inner core is 760 miles in diameter (1,220 km) and its surface temperature is as hot as the sun's surface, 10,800 degrees Fahrenheit (6,000 degrees Celsius). The solid inner core's diameter of 2,159 miles (3,474 km) is about 70% the diameter of Earth's moon. June 26, 2014 Evanston, Illinois - 71% of Earth's surface area is water. Earth ocean depths can be as much as five to six miles — and even 6.8 miles deep in the Pacific's Mariana Trench. How did so much water end up on a planet that began as boiling hot with lava all over its surface? This question has baffled scientists for a long time. Theories have included comets crashing into Earth and leaving their ice to melt. But could comets provide all the water that's filled Earth's oceans and seas? No one knows exactly when the first ocean filled, but estimates are as long ago as 3.8 billion years.

June 26, 2014 Detroit, Michigan - Seven years ago in May 2007, I began reporting at my news website, Earthfiles.com, about photographs and encounters of eyewitnesses with strange , silent aerial craft shaped like dragonflies that were seen hovering low in the sky — sometimes flickering in and out of visibility. Two different people — one in central California and another in Birmingham, Alabama — photographed a silver ring with a long tail hovering close to power and telephone poles.
