Titan – A Moon Where It Rains Methane Into Seas and Soils of Hydrocarbons

Above: Ringed Saturn has 33 moons reported as of August, 2004. Below: Titan is Saturn's biggest moon and second largest moon in the Solar System (after Jupiter's Ganymede). It is larger than the planets, Mercury and Pluto. Titan has a thick atmosphere (mostly nitrogen with some methane) and an atmospheric pressure of 1.6 bars (60 percent greater than the Earth's). This atmosphere with its heavy clouds obscures the moon's surface. It may rain liquid methane. The surface temperature is about -178°C = -289°F. Images courtesy NASA/JPL.

January 21, 2005  Tucson, Arizona - On January 14, 2005, the European Space Agency's (ESA) Huygens probe finally landed on the surface of Saturn's mysterious and cloud-covered moon, Titan. ESA engineers said Huygens is "the furthest human-made object that has touched down on an alien world, the only moon in the solar system with a thick atmosphere." Titan is Saturn's largest moon of at least 33 moons counted so far and is larger than the planets, Mercury and Pluto. As the Huygens probe fell by parachute through the strange moon's atmosphere at speeds ranging from 150 meters per second down to 5 meters per second, earth scientists were surprised that the probe kept losing orientation lock on the sun. Later it was decided that the lock problem and whooshing sounds from the probe's microphone were caused by winds on the moon that buffeted Huygens as it descended. That means Titan even has weather.

Updated – Cassini/Huygen’s First Look At Titan’s Surface

January 14, 2005  Darmstadt, Germany - European Space Agency scientists celebrated today after the first raw images of the Cassini/Huygen space probe sent back the first images of Saturn's moon, Titan, which has been shrouded by thick atmosphere until now.

January 13, 2005  Cape Canaveral, Florida - Yesterday, scientists were gathered at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida to watch the lift off of humankind's very first effort to physically look inside a comet in our solar system. The spacecraft is called "Deep Impact." It's goal is to create some icy fireworks on July 4th this year when it literally blows a hole in a 5-mile-diameter comet named Tempel 1.

9.0 Sumatra Earthquake Update

Red bullseye south of Meulaboh and Banda Aceh, island of Sumatra, Indonesia, indicates 9.0 Richter Scale earthquake's epicenter at 8 a.m. Sumatra time on December 26, 2004. The tsunami of a trillion cubic meters of water swamped beaches, including Phuket and the Nicobar and Andaman Islands northwest of Banda Aceh. Yet animals and natives on those nearby islands apparently got to higher ground to survive.

January 7, 2005  Pasadena, California - The 9.0 Indian Ocean earthquake that hit Sumatra, Indonesia, at 8 o'clock Christmas morning was caused by big rocky plates moving over each other more than five miles down at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. Those big chunks of rock were at least 500 kilometers by 150 kilometers wide. That is 311 miles by 93 miles. The Burma Plate slid fifty feet closer to India. Normally the Indian plate has moved only 2.4 inches a year.

Audience Feedback About Abrupt Climate Change 5,200 Years Ago and Mayan and Aztec Calendar Links

"To the Aztec, as to all ancient Mesoamerican peoples, time proceeded not linearly, but in cycles. ... Just as the world was created, destroyed and recreated time and again, so smaller units of time repeated themselves. ...If life was impermanent for the Aztec, so, in the last analysis, was death. Life contained the inevitability of death, but death held within it the certainty of rebirth. For the Aztec, as for other native American peoples, death meant passage from earthly life to another existence on a different plane in a multi-level universe. For some, it also meant even the possibility of return to earth, though in a different form."

Abrupt Climate Change Occurred Worldwide 5,200 Years Ago.

December 31, 2004  Columbus, Ohio - As we move into the New Year of 2005, our planet is giving many signals that big and perhaps very sudden climate changes are facing us in the foreseeable future. On December 16th, at the American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco, Distinguished Professor Lonnie Thompson from the Geology Department and Byrd Polar Research Center at Ohio State University, presented evidence that the ice in the world's glaciers is melting rapidly and he is finding surprises in the melting glacial ice.

Is Our Solar System’s Red, Mysterious Sedna An Alien Planetoid?

December 17, 2004  Salt Lake City, Utah - Some astrophysicists are trying to understand how our solar system formed, as baffling objects continue to be discovered. Only a year ago on November 14, 2003, a mysterious object was found at the far reaches of our solar system that has the strangest elliptical orbit of anything revolving around our sun.

Part 4: “Peculiar Phenomena,” V-2 Rockets – and UFOB Retaliation?

Return to Part 1

December 10, 2004  Albuquerque, New Mexico -

Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit

One of the many important documents leaked in 1996 to UFO researchers Bob and Ryan Wood (www.majestic12documents.com) is entitled: TOP SECRET ULTRA INTERPLANETARY PHENOMENON UNIT SUMMARY INTELLIGENCE ASSESSMENT, from the U. S. War Department and dated July 22, 1947 - the same month of worldwide headlines that an unidentified flying object had crashed between Corona and Roswell, New Mexico.

This IPU document states:

"The extraordinary recovery of fallen airborne objects in the state of New Mexico, between 4 July - 6 July 1947: This Summary was prepared by Headquarters Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit, Scientific and Technical Branch, Counterintelligence Directorate, as requested by A. C. of S., G-2, at the expressed order of Chief of Staff."

December 9, 2004  Albuquerque, New Mexico -

Animal Mutilations

On May 15, 1947, when the unidentified "peculiar phenomena" on radar appeared with the ascending V-2 rocket that immediately went off course, perhaps no one in the U. S. government knew that around them another "peculiar phenomenon" was taking place that might be directly linked to the intelligence inside the discs. That phenomenon is the worldwide animal mutilation mystery.

In 1983, I was working on a Home Box Office TV special called, UFOs: The E. T. Factor. On April 9, 1983, I had a meeting at Kirtland Air Force Base's Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with an AFOSI Special Agent named Richard C. Doty. Agent Doty showed me an alleged briefing paper for the "President of the United States of America" about "unidentified aerial vehicles" and entities. One of the pages contained a list of locations where American military and intelligence units had retrieved aerial vehicles described as "extraterrestrial," along with humanoid bodies - both dead and alive. In addition to the well known name Roswell, other sites on the crash retrieval list included Magdalena near the Plains of San Agustin; Kingman, Arizona; northern Mexico south of Loredo, Texas; and Aztec, New Mexico.
