“The idea that acoustic-gravity waves provoked by intense plasmas from the sun interacting with Earth's magnetic fields could explain the horn-like and other videotaped sounds is off on the wrong foot. Such waves are below human hearing.”
- David Hathaway, Ph.D., NASA Solar Physicist

Updated March 1, 2012, with Earthfiles podcast(original report February 24, 2012) Huntsville, Alabama - As strange sounds around the world continue to be reported by individuals, theories about what’s causing the sounds range from Mother Nature and the cosmos to suspicions that in this year of 2012, linked to the end of the Mayan Grand Calendar, that secret government projects could be experimenting with human reactions like the new DARPA Battlefield Deception plan I describe at the end of this updated report and podcast above.

“I specifically want Project JEHOVAH director Professor Albert Einstein and Doctor Robert Oppenheimer to inject any useful comments to the briefing as they are most informed on the physics related to the subject.”
- Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States,
January 20, 1953 to January 20, 1961
August 6, 2008 Albuquerque, New Mexico - On April 20, 2002, I reported an Earthfiles.com entitled Canadian and American Officials in 1950s Collaborated on Study of Unidentified Aerial Disks. See 042008 Earthfiles in Real X-Files Archive. There were two subjects in that Earthfiles report: a Canadian government investigation of UFOs and an American government UFO-related Project JEHOVAH.
First, was the official UFO phenomenon research by a Canadian engineer named Wilbert Brockhouse Smith, who in the early 1950s was Director of Project Magnet in Canada's Department of Transport. Canadian UFO historian and researcher Grant Cameron discovered a Department of Transport document originally classified TOP SECRET about the subject of “Geo-Magnetics.” Project Magnet was an official investigation of the “flying saucers” and the theory that their mode of propulsion utilized the magnetic fields of the earth and solar system.

“There is a rather sharp, little pointy - hill?
It appears to be 66 feet to 98 feet (20 - 30 meters) above the
surrounding topography. We don't really understand yet what that is
- just one feature in particular that sticks up on YU55.”
- Lance Benner, Ph.D., Planetary Scientist and Asteroid Specialist,
NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, Pasadena, Calif.
Updated December 22, 2011: This week, I received the following email exchange from Russell, Kentucky resident Marty Dowell, who contacted her Congressman Ed Whitfield's office for more information about where the November 8, 9, and 10 radar images are from the close pass of the asteroid YU55 between Earth and moon. The Congressman's office received this emailed reply from NASA/JPL: “NASA was unable to capture images of 2005 YU55 using radar on November 8 due to the rapid angle of motion of the object across the sky at that time.”

“We have doubts. We are not yet sure. What we can tell you today is that we are sure that if the Higgs Boson is there, it will not escape
detection. It will definitely be discovered without any doubt in a year from now.”
- Guido Tonelli, Ph.D., Spokesperson, CERN CMS
December 13, 2011 Geneva, Switzerland - The Large Hadron Collider at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics known as CERN collides hadrons together to see what the matter part of the universe is made of down to the smallest subatomic particles. Hadrons are subatomic particles made of quarks held together by the strong force, while atoms and molecules are held together by the electromagnetic force. The best known hadrons are protons and neutrons that make up the nucleus in each atom. Theoretically in the physics “Standard Model” of how the universe is constructed, protons have mass because of a theoretical subatomic particle called a Higgs Boson.

“Sunspot magnetic fields are dropping by about 50 gauss per year. If we extrapolate this trend into the future, sunspots could completely vanish around the year 2015.”
- Matt Penn, Ph.D., National Solar Observatory (NSO), Tucson, Arizona
November 14, 2011 - Sun Prominence One of Biggest Ever Seen.
“I can't help but wonder what could possibly come next since we are still over a year away from the forecasted Solar Maximum (in mid-2013)?”
- Stephen Ramsden, Solar Photographer
November 6, 2011 - Largest Sunspot Since 2005.
“It's still growing. The size is what blows me away.”
- Jess Whittington, Space Weather Prediction Center, Boulder, Colo.
Sunspot 1339 has a Beta-Gamma Delta magnetic configuration and could produce further M-Class flares. Two new sunspots rotated into view Saturday on the eastern limb and were assigned the numbers 1341 and 1342. A third sunspot rotated into view Sunday morning and was numbered 1343. Sunspot 1338 recently released two small C-Flares.
October 27, 2011 - Sun's Strong October 24th CME Provoked Auroras Over 33 States.
Spaceweather.com reports that “many observers, especially in the deep south, commented on the pure red color of the lights they saw. These rare all-red auroras sometimes appear at low latitudes during intense geomagnetic storms. They occur some 186 to 311 miles (300 to 500 km) above Earth's surface and are not yet fully understood.” See DMSP and Spaceweather.com.
October 24, 2011 - Intense Solar CME Today Compressed Earth's Magnetic Field.
“The sky was brightly illuminated by auroras this evening in Norway.
The photo with yellow sky was taken at 19:20 UT right after the most extreme compression of the magnetosphere.”
- Geir Øye, Orsta, Norway
Updated November 22 / Original October 30, 2011 Huntsville, Alabama - The third week of October 2011, solar physicists gathered in Sunspot, New Mexico, for the first in a series of three workshops to try to figure out what is happening in our sun. After nearly three years without sunspots leading into current Solar Cycle 24, physicists wonder if the sun is doing something differently, perhaps winding down into what is called a Grand Minimum where for decades the sun would not have sunspots.

“What the functions of the circles are, nobody has excavated one to my knowledge. .... It's really difficult to say what these circles meant to those people 9,000 years ago.”
- Gary O. Rollefson, Ph.D., Prof. of Anthropology,
Whitman College, Walla, Walla, Washington
September 30, 2011 Perth, Western Australia and Walla Walla, Washington - Twenty-five million years ago there were repeated volcanic eruptions in what is now modern day Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Today there is continuous dark basalt for 100 miles or more in a region called Harrat Ash-shaam. Lots of the basalt has broken up over time into jagged, rocks. In that vast 100 miles of black lava rock has emerged an archaeological mystery to rival the enigma on the Plains of Nazca in Peru. Thousands of circular patterns, many with spokes like a wheel, are found throughout the Harrat Ash-shaam.

“In Jordan alone, we've got stone-built structures that are
far more numerous than the Nazca Lines, far more extensive
in the area that they cover, and far older.”
- David Kennedy, Ph.D., Univ. of Western Australia
September 16, 2011 Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia - Scientists at the University of Western Australia have taken almost 45,000 aerial images of mysterious stone circles, or “wheels,” they have found by satellite-mapping technologies in Syria and Saudi Arabia and an aerial photography project in Jordan. The number of stone patterns in only the region of Harrat ash-Shaam of Jordan are 1,000 or more.

“ ... there is no evidence for a Planet X. There is no evidence for Nibiru.
Neither one of them exist. So, there is absolutely nothing to be
concerned about with regard to Comet Elenin.”
- Don Yeomans, Ph.D., Manager, Near-Earth Object (NEO) Program,
NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, Pasadena, California
August 26, 2011 Pasadena, California - Comet Elenin is a long-period comet discovered by Russian amateur astronomer Leonid Elenin eight months ago on December 10, 2010. Comet Elenin will make its closest approach to the Sun on September 10, 2011, and then a month later on October 16th, Elenin will be closest to Earth at a distance of about 22 million miles, or not much closer than the planet Venus. Those are the facts.

“That’s one of the biggest questions for NASA as they go out to search
for signs of life elsewhere. What would alien life look like?”
- Michael Callahan, Ph.D., Astrochemist, NASA Goddard
August 26, 2011 Greenbelt, Maryland - There is an Astrochemistry Lab at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. There, Research Physical Astrochemist Michael P. Callahan, Ph.D., has been studying a dozen carbonaceous chondrite meteorites that have fallen from space to Earth. Nine of them came from Antarctica because he wanted to concentrate his research on meteorites that would be more protected from terrestrial contamination. The cold, icy environment of the South Polar region provides better preservation. What Dr. Callahan has been looking for in the carbon-rich meteorites are chemistries related to life that had to have been created in space.
